BEA and Suvudu Chat
First off, there is a great new review of The Painted Man on SFFWorld.
I will be doing a live chat on June 4 at 2PM EST on the Del Rey mega-blog Suvudu with (Red Wolf Conspiracy) author Robert Redick, moderated by Robert’s editor, Kaitlin Heller (details here). You can send in questions for Robert or myself in advance by e-mailing info@suvudu.com, or you can just log in live and ask them then. It’s my first live chat, but it looks like it will be great fun. I met Robert at NY ComicCon, and we had a great time getting drunk at the afterparty.
Also, I wanted to note thatI will be at Book Expo America (BEA) Friday-Sunday. I have no formal signings or appearances scheduled, but if anyone wants to meet me, even if it’s just to get a book signed or whatever, feel free to send me an e-mail, or look for me wandering the convention floor.
Lastly, I saw the other day that Carrie Harris reviewed The Warded Man on her blog in the form of a Haiku. I think that’s pretty cool, and it got me thinking. Is anyone interested in a haiku review contest? I’ve never done a reader contest on my site, and I think it’s high time.
Let me know if there’s interest, and I will come up with some simple rules for entry and prizes.
It’s probably no big surprise that I’m absolutely up for a haiku review contest. Hopefully, I won’t sound too much like a kiss@ss if I also say that The Warded Man was made of awesome.
The copy of the Warded Man I have is made mostly of processed wood pulp.
But I’m pretty sure there was some sweat involved.
Second the motion on a Haiku review contest. I’m also eagerly anticipating your “Hot Warded Man Fans” calendar. I’m reserving June for Matt.
We mixed copious amounts of awesome into the printers ink.
Fine, fine. Let me rephrase:
The Warded Man was made of processed wood pulp, sweat, printers ink, and awesome.
Appetizing, eh?
Haiku contest is an okay idea, but I still think you should go with the fan art and/or custom action figure contest.
Or do away with the competitive aspects of it and have all three as “non-tests”, just because everyone likes drawings, toys, and poetry.
If people seem interested in those other contests I will totally try them, but for a first contest ever, I think Haiku reviews in my unlocked comments section is the most inclusive.
I think you’re just trying to get out of coming over and helping me custom paint that Arlen figure like you promised.
