A Conversation With Jinx

Jinx29

Jinx is my cat. I love her dearly, though I seldom know why.

I went to the fridge just now looking for something to eat. I missed dinner because I was working. I saw a chicken and decided to cut some meat off it for a sandwich.

Of course, Jinx came running before I even got the carving knife. She started rubbing against my legs and yapping. I am not totally fluent in cat, but having grown up around them, I am at least at a conversational level. Here is my translation of what she was saying.

“What’s that you got there? Chicken? I like chicken. Did you know I like chicken? I’m pretty sure I told you I like chicken, but in case you forgot that I like chicken, I thought I’d remind that I like chicken. Because I do like chicken. I like chicken a lot. Do you think I could have some of that chicken? You seem to have a lot of chicken, enough to share, I think. I would be happy to share that chicken with you if you want, because I like chicken.”

It went on for some time. Eventually I gave her some just to shut her up. Man, that bitch can talk your ear off!

  1. Aww bless…I miss my cats so much when I’m at uni. If you’ve ever got time to spare, go to YouTube and search ‘Simon’s Cat’, there’s this bunch of brilliant cartoons about a demanding cat, absolutely adorable 🙂

  2. Man, you have a way with cat language – although I agree with every word of it.

  4. It seems you can speak as well doggish.
My adorable dog is the same.
As soon as someone is going into the kitchen she goes there too.
But instead of looking what we’re about to eat, she sits down in front of “her” place and is looking at us with those eyes….
And none of my family is able to neglet those eyes so she always gets her cheese.
