New York ComicCon is Coming
I’m back!
After two weeks of signings/conventions in LA/Australia, followed by another week of jet lag and wading through an overflowing inbox, I am pretty much up to speed and ready to get back to writing/blogging on a regular basis. My new part-time assistant will also be starting in a week or two… more on that later.
I have lots to tell about the trip, as well as Brayan’s Gold, the upcoming Homemade Heroes contest, and more, but I’m easing back into things, so for today I just wanted to remind everyone to mark their calendars for New York ComicCon, which is right around the corner October 8-10 at the Jacob Javits Center in Manhattan. ComicCon is a HUGE event, filling the entire massive convention center with endless awesomeness. Even if you only make it to the airplane hangar of a dealer’s room, you will be stunned at the books, comics, videogames, movies, toys, and more on display, including never-before-seen releases, teasers, and endless people in full costume. It is fun for the whole family.
But more than just that, there are tons of panels and special events with various guest stars, including a couple starring yours truly:
Friday, Oct. 8, 2010 7:30-8:30pm:
Epic fantasy panel including Joe Abercrombie, Peter V. Brett, Jim Butcher, Naomi Novik (and possibly Brandon Sanderson). Pretty heavy company for the likes of me, but I promise to hold my own.
Saturday, Oct. 9, 2010, 3pm:
Signing at the Del Rey books booth.
There may be other events at the con, and I will announce those once the program is formalized.
Hope to see you there!
You’ll almost certainly see me there. Looking forward to it…
Speak his name, and he shall appear.
Looking forward to meeting you in person, Joe, and fencing with you about… whatever the panel topic is. Do you want point or counterpoint?
I wish I could go but unfortunately I don’t think I’ll be able to make it this year.
Glad that you had a good time in the Land Down Under and I am looking forward to the forthcoming blog entries.
I’ll be there for the panel. Too bad your signing is on Saturday as I’lll only be there Friday.
Sod the fencing. Where’s the bar?
NYC has no shortage of them.
No shortage at all.
In that case, I’m there. I hear Joe’s a lightweight who can’t hold his liquor. That’s the rumor anyway.
