Welcome to the Family

We have a new addition to the Demon Cycle family! May I present Brayan’s Gold, 6 x 8 inches and 94 pages long. Don’t be fooled by his deceptively small size. This youngster is poised to wow people, packed with 9 full-page B&W interior illustrations and an amazing color cover by the lovely and brilliant Lauren K. Cannon.

My samples came this morning, and they are a joy to behold.

Because I am just that cool a guy, I will be including a copy or two along with the Homemade Heroes prizes. If you’re not one of the fortunate few whose incredible entries qualify, remember that you can still pre-order them from Subterranean Press here.

The book comes in both trade edition (above, left – limited to 5000 copies) and deluxe limited edition (above, right – limited to 750 copies, signed and numbered). Both hardbacks have the same art, but the deluxe has its own cover design, a special signed and numbered title page, and instead of the purple cloth cover, it is done in beautiful white leather, embossed with blue wards, a wonderful compliment to the black leather of The Great Bazaar deluxe, and totally apropos to the wintry fun of the story:

Brayan’s Gold officially goes on sale in January 2011, but it may well be sold out before then, so order fast if you’re interested!

  1. Very nice! I’m glad I secured my copy months ago because that white and blue deluxe addition will look great on my bookshelf.

  2. What beautiful books! But with 2 months before the release, it’s almost too painful a wait!

  4. Beautiful! Missed out on The Great Bazaar, but there’s no way I’m letting this one get away from me. Just pre-ordered. And maybe I can con my boyfriend into spending over $300 bucks on TGB through eBay… Teehee.

  6. I only found ‘The Painted Man’ this year. By the time I had finished and been told about ‘The Great Bazaar’ it had already sold out.

In the UK it is on Ebay for £250.00 and Amazon for £240.00 so as desperate as I am to read it I have moved onto ‘The Desert Spear’ 🙂

This book looks awesome! I’ve just pre-ordered now in order to ensure I am not paying £250.00 in a few months time 😉 I love the concept of limited edition books and expanding the world / giving it even more depth through short stories!

Out of interest, what is the link with ‘Lauren K. Cannon’? Was she someone you found yourself, the publisher suggested, other? Her art is really, really impressive.

    Congrats!

  11. Got home tonight and had a subpress package waiting — my Brayan’s Gold copies. They’re even more beautiful in my hand, especially the limited edition one. I’m almost afraid to read one — almost!
