Audio Contest Winners
It’s official; there are some very talented people that are Demon Cycle fans. For the audio contest, we had funny entries, sad entries, ones that sounded beautiful and ones that made you jump out of your seat, and readings in three different languages. To everyone that entered, thanks. Peat and I (and other readers as well) really enjoyed listening to them all. You can see the original contest post here.
Of course, now you want the fun part: the announcement of the winners. But before I do that I want to remind everyone that the grand prize is a signed copy of the deluxe version of Brayan’s Gold, which you can see below. It’s a beautiful, white leather bound and embossed limited edition book.
Grand Prize – Personalized Deluxe Brayan’s Gold
The winner is Kaz. You can listen to her entry here. It’s wonderful to listen to; she has a great speaking voice, does a great reading and has some good voices for the different characters. I must once again say that she should consider this as a career. Now everyone, heap praise upon her.
First Prize – Personalized Brayan’s Gold
Congratulations to Snellopy! This is a really entertaining reading; there are great voices (including some demons, so don’t listen to it on the highest volume). It sounds really epic (like an action movie trailer) which fits the scene perfectly. However, do not listen to this clip if you have a heart problem, since it almost gave me a heart attack, and I’m sure Snellopy doesn’t want that on his conscience.

Second Prize – Personalized copy of books in the language they read from
Kissifrott was one of our second prize winners, and will receive a personalized copy of La Lance Du Desert. I really like the cover of the French edition.
As you may have surmised, he did a great reading in French. It sounds really mysterious and he does some wonderful voices. It’ll keep you interested even if you don’t speak French (like myself). I just made stuff up along in my head about what I think was happening.

Our other second prize winner is Eve, who will receive a personalized copy of Der große Basar, the German version of The Great Bazaar. This edition is great because it has maps on the inside covers and extra art. Also, I have to say that it just feels nice; the paper is just the right weight and texture, and the cover is just as perfect. </end book nerd fawning>
Eve went above and beyond and actually did two readings: one in English and one in German. In both readings she does great voices for the different characters, but the tone matches the different readings perfectly. Here is the German reading:
And here is the English one:
I’m really not sure which one I like best; I can understand the English one but the German one has a certain je ne sais quoi (or whatever the German equivalent is).

Thank you so much, Peat and Rebecca! I used to get my practice doing the gospel readings at church. (Roman Catholic) Who would have thought such a background would have helped a now avowed atheist? 😉
Thanks again and many successes for your futures. (Btw, Rebecca is such a nice and efficient person that, should I ever attain success in writing, I might try to tempt her away from you!)
Kaz!
Kudos to the winners, but all participants did a great job. I enjoyed listening to everyone’s unique take on the scenes they chose.
Congrats to the winners, you all did an amazing job! 🙂
Kaz, I am right there with you. I used to read in church, too, and credit much of my reading skills to that. Now I am an atheist writing about demons.
Thanks again to all the entrants. Yet another time when I wish I’d had more prizes to give out. There was so much awesome in this contest.
Thanks a lot, it was great fun doing it!
Wow, I’m really surprize ^^
Merci beaucoup, et bravo à tous, particulièrement Kaz 😉
Congratulations guys! You all deserved your prizes and more!
Thank you so much here, and my book arrived a few days ago and I wanted to let you now, but I had no time, for I had serveral Exams at school.
And just the day when the book arrived I screwed up in physics.
So you really made my day!
And Kaz and Snellopy…you are awesome!
and thanks to Kissifrott I know now how french is supposed to sound…
‘Arlen V’s the Sand Demon’ – The sound effects were awesome, i had the volume on loud, should have read the part about it giving people heart attacks lol, it made me jump.
