Cosplay: Warded Warriors!
Posted by Karen
I love roleplay. Whether it’s your traditional D&D (3.5-esque Homebrew for me), GURPS, or a full-on LARP, it’s always a blast! A few months ago, we were contacted by Erik who showed off these fantastic LARP cosplays inspired by The Warded Man:
“Two warded warriors getting ready to say their prayers before being overrun by a zombie horde…”
This is seriously cool and the wards are done -perfectly-.
I especially love this shot. Two warriors going off to fight, maybe to die in order to keep others safe. The lighting and atmosphere really sell it.
Thanks so much to Erik for letting us in on the awesomeness! Though the characters have been put to rest, we know their spirits will live on. You are all deliverers.
You can get your copy of The Warded Man here!
I had the pleasure and honor to fight beside Erik during that LARP event!
Much like Arlen became a rallying-point for the Hollow. Erik became ours. It was amazing to see 2 worlds collide and the result was amazing!
Thanks for posting this, Peter.
It was awesome using fragments of your work to act out a character with layers of depth and background.
Props to Jeroen, who basically came in as an NPC to be a Nestor, or teacher, to my character. It took him an entire afternoon to read and learn the basics of being a warded warrior.
Also the SL, or game masters, of the Balance LARP group had a tough read of my 30 page history and background but managed to give me an incredible experience at their event.
Alas, Ar-Den died trying to defend the hamlet from being overrun by a undead horde. I will miss him, and using the inspiration from the demon cycle books.
Thank you
We have played during a few events with Erik as brothers-in-arms. He had played the religious nuts very well and he was very unpredictable, up to a point where I needed to risk my life for that nutcase. I had a blast where we made our final stand.
